Zoho CRM vs HubSpot CRM: Feature-by-Feature Comparison

  • Jul 27
  • 5 min read

We covered the broader Zoho vs HubSpot platform question in a separate article. This comparison goes narrower and deeper, focusing purely on CRM functionality.

Feature by feature, where does Zoho CRM outperform HubSpot Sales Hub, and where does HubSpot pull ahead?

If you are choosing specifically for sales pipeline management rather than the wider marketing and service ecosystem, this is the comparison that matters.

Lead Management: A Meaningful Gap

Lead scoring is available in Zoho CRM from its Standard edition, which is the entry-level paid tier.

In HubSpot Sales Hub, lead scoring is restricted to the Professional edition and above.

This means a business wanting this important capability must commit to a materially higher HubSpot price point before it can access it.

Zoho CRM also includes a Kanban view for visualising deal stages across the sales pipeline as standard.

HubSpot Sales Hub does not provide the same dedicated Kanban pipeline functionality, which independent comparisons frequently identify as a genuine limitation for teams that rely on visual pipeline management.

For sales teams that want to see deal flow at a glance and move opportunities visually between stages, Zoho offers the stronger built-in experience.

AI: Included vs Paid Add-On

This is one of the clearest differences between the two platforms.

Zia, Zoho CRM’s AI assistant, is included within the standard CRM licence from the Enterprise tier upwards. It does not require a separate purchase and is billed in GBP alongside the rest of the Zoho subscription.

HubSpot’s equivalent, Breeze AI, is offered as a paid add-on.

Breeze AI credits are priced globally in USD, at around $30 for 100 Breeze Credits, and are charged on top of HubSpot’s already higher base subscription.

Functionally, Breeze AI focuses on capabilities such as:

  • Deal summaries

  • Personalised email generation

  • Buyer-persona matching

  • Sales-content assistance

  • Customer data insights

These are genuinely useful features.

However, the fact that Zia is bundled into Zoho CRM licensing while Breeze AI is metered and charged separately creates a practical cost difference that becomes more significant as team size and AI usage increase.

Reporting and Analytics

HubSpot Sales Hub’s standard reporting is functional, but it has an important limitation.

Custom reports and dashboards are only available from the Professional edition upwards.

Even at that level, independent comparisons frequently describe HubSpot’s custom report builder as less flexible or intuitive than Zoho CRM’s equivalent.

Zoho CRM makes reporting and dashboard customisation available at a lower price tier and provides greater flexibility for businesses that want to analyse their sales data around their own processes.

Depending on the selected Zoho plan, teams can build reports around:

  • Lead sources

  • Pipeline stages

  • Sales representatives

  • Conversion rates

  • Forecast performance

  • Lost-deal reasons

  • Customer activity

  • Custom fields and modules

For growing businesses that need more than basic pre-built reports, Zoho generally provides stronger analytical capability per pound spent.

Communication and Marketing Integration

Zoho CRM provides omnichannel communication as a native part of the sales workflow.

Email, telephony, live chat, messaging applications and social interactions can be brought together within one interface.

This helps sales teams view customer communication in context rather than switching between multiple disconnected applications.

HubSpot Sales Hub includes live chat and a shared team inbox as standard. This is a genuine strength for smaller teams that want straightforward customer conversation tools without extensive setup.

However, businesses requiring social media scheduling, monitoring or analysis must purchase the Professional edition of HubSpot Marketing Hub separately.

This creates an additional cost that Zoho CRM does not require for its equivalent social features.

The right option depends on the depth of marketing automation required.

HubSpot has the stronger dedicated marketing platform, but Zoho provides more communication channels directly within its CRM licence.

Mobile Capability

Zoho CRM’s mobile application includes business card scanning and voice-to-text note capture.

These features are particularly useful for field-based sales representatives who need to capture lead details, meeting notes or contact information without manually typing everything into the CRM.

HubSpot’s mobile application also includes business card scanning and caller identification.

This category is therefore closer to a tie than a decisive win for either platform.

Both vendors take mobile lead capture seriously and provide practical tools for sales teams working away from their desks.

Where HubSpot Pulls Ahead

It would be inaccurate to present this comparison as entirely one-sided.

HubSpot’s biggest advantage remains ease of use and speed of adoption.

Its interface is clean, modern and generally faster for non-technical sales teams to understand. New users can often begin completing basic CRM tasks without extensive training or configuration.

For a small, marketing-led team that values a polished and guided experience more than deep configurability, HubSpot’s design advantage is real.

HubSpot’s native marketing automation also becomes more mature when a business commits to its higher-tier Marketing Hub products.

For teams running sophisticated, multi-touch lead-nurture campaigns, HubSpot provides stronger out-of-the-box marketing functionality than Zoho CRM alone.

The trade-off is that accessing this depth requires a significantly higher subscription investment.

The Pricing Reality

Zoho CRM’s UK pricing is structured across four main paid tiers:

  • Standard at around £12 per user per month

  • Professional at around £20 per user per month

  • Enterprise at around £35 per user per month

  • Ultimate at around £45 per user per month

These prices undercut HubSpot Sales Hub at every comparable tier.

HubSpot Sales Hub Professional runs at around £85 per seat per month, while Enterprise costs approximately £135–£140 per seat per month.

That is before accounting for HubSpot’s mandatory onboarding fees.

Professional plans commonly carry onboarding charges of around £1,200 or more, while Enterprise onboarding costs can rise significantly higher.

Zoho does not apply the same mandatory onboarding fee structure.

For growing sales teams, the difference is therefore not limited to monthly licence costs.

The total first-year investment can be considerably higher with HubSpot once onboarding, AI credits and additional Hub products are included.

The Practical Verdict

For pure CRM functionality, including lead management, pipeline visualisation, AI-assisted forecasting and reporting depth, Zoho CRM delivers more capability per pound spent.

It also includes features such as lead scoring and AI that HubSpot restricts to higher tiers or charges for separately.

HubSpot’s advantage is its genuine ease of use and more polished out-of-the-box experience.

This matters most for small, non-technical sales teams that prioritise fast adoption over deep customisation.

Choose HubSpot CRM if:

  • Your team values simplicity and rapid adoption

  • Marketing-led growth is your main priority

  • You need sophisticated HubSpot marketing automation

  • Your budget can accommodate higher licence and onboarding costs

  • You prefer a polished experience over extensive customisation

Choose Zoho CRM if:

  • You need lead scoring at a lower price tier

  • Visual pipeline management is important

  • You want AI included within the CRM licence

  • You require deeper reporting and customisation

  • You want sales data connected with finance, support and operations

  • Long-term cost control is a major consideration

For growing UK SMEs building a sales process that needs to scale, Zoho CRM is typically the stronger long-term choice.

It provides lead scoring, AI-assisted prioritisation and meaningful reporting depth without requiring premium pricing for capabilities that many businesses consider essential.

As one of only six Zoho Premium Partners in the UK, SME Advantage configures Zoho CRM’s lead scoring, pipeline stages and AI features around your actual sales process from day one.
